Still running rich - still can't pass smog...HELP!
This is a JDM b16a in a 90 Civic EX.
Ok, I've now done a obd1 conversion (p28 ECU jumperable done by Katman/GSR dizzy/OBD0 injectors running through the resistor box still). I just replaced the cat. New cap & rotor as well.
I'm still throwing out about 220-300 ppm on Hydrocarbons when running off the stock p28 program. My CO is fine when running the stock program. My A/F gauge runs in the green, then will dip all the way to full lean for a moment, then come back up - no change in the rpm's, but there is an notable audible difference when it cycles through like that.
Any ideas? I'm close to giving up, trying to sell the car to someone in a state that doesn't smog check & buying a WRX at this point.

O2 sensor or ECT sensor...
If the ECT sensor is faulty, the ECU will keep on dumping in fuel..
And about the meter.. Did you happen to tap into any sensor when installing it.. I don't know much but I do know that the ECU looks for resistance from sensors.. And by adding the meter in series or parallel, it'll change the resistance of the circuit and probably give the ECU bogus readings..
