2007 Civic Air Filter Box Removal
This should be a simple thing! I need to get at the top of the tranny as I am getting a P0848 error - 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch stuck. The are 2 10mm bolts and some hoses that need to be unattached. But on the lower rear of the air filter box (inboard side) there appears to be a rivet holding the box in place. I see someone else has attempted to pull the box out and it has started to break.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here? It seems another 10mm bolt would have been fine. How do I get this 'rivet?" out without beating the hell out of it?
Thanks

I've removed my airbox twice and never encountered a rivet, just 3-4 bolts. There are 1-2 on the outside of the box and I believe 2 in the inside, where you need to remove the filter element to get at.
Pics would be helpful.

Thanks for the reply! I did solve it. Yes, there really is a rivet like object that serves as a post around which a rubber washer is pushed down and under the flared head holding the rear of the air filter box in place. As the car is a 2007 (assembled in Canada) the rubber grommet was very stiff and stuck in position and there was no give at all. I had to use a couple of thin screw drivers to pry/tear it out. I assume they saved 5 cents using that method. You learn something new every day!
I think that this will help someone else to...
