Bend spark plugs...?
Hi all
So I just finished my h22 build and got engine in the car.
I noticed a funny thing, when we checked p2v. Took out the spark plugs and they were bend ok didnt think more about it.
Now im standing here looking at my car and want to fire her up with running in oil.
I gapped the spark plugs and installed em. Cranked the engine for 2 secs and took em out again to inspect. Yes they were bend again..
Had CP do some custom 12.5:1 cr pistons for me btw. And plugs are ngk iridium.
Question is. What can I do about this?
Hope for some replys, not sure what to do here

we need to know what the exact spark plug is that you're currently using that are getting bent. let us know, and we'll go from there. just remove a plug and look at it, the part number is printed right on the sparkplug
yes.
yup, those are the longer tip plugs. get a set of bkr6eix. they're identical except a shorter tip that wont protrude as far. if the pistons still hit those, then you're out of plug options and will need to get a thicker headgasket to raise the head
donno if anyone else noted.
hes using 12.5cr pistons.
don't you need 7 heat rating spark plugs with that compression?
6 heat rating is for gsr motor
ITR uses 7 heat rating plugs already

good point guys, I'm surprised I actually didn't catch that.
yes, you want 7's with that compression for sure. bkr7eix if you want iridiums, or bkr7e/bkr7e-11 if you want copper tips
