Radiator/ Water leak help
alrighty you guys,
i have an 96 honda accord VTEC EX, the problem is that every time i open up the radiator cap there is no water so i have to keep refilling it before every use of my car. now i think its maybe cause my car is getting a little to hot because of my Condenser fan motor has died. i recently put in a new radiator fan motor and it helps cool it down alot, but once in a while the temp goes up and after driving for prolong periods of time and just sitting in a position like traffic or stop light. on day i took the battery out and there was cooling puddled under neath it. idk if the water is spraying out from the water hold case next to the radiator or if i have a serious leak or NEED to place in the condenser fan motor to get it working again. pls help me out. thx
-i just got into honda tuning

The cooling system is a closed system. If you are continually having to put "coolant" inside then you either have an external leak or you have an internal leak(head gasket leak).
You are obviously going to need to find the source of the external leak. Then you either need to replace the hoses or you need to replace the hose clamps that are holding the hose to the radiator/engine as over time they get old and stop clamping tight enough to prevent a leak.
We obviously can't find the leak for you you need to to do that yourself.
Also, it's very important to use a 50/50 mixture of coolant. If you're using tap water you're going to be damaging not only the cooling system but your engine too.

check and see if your local parts store either loans or rents a radiator/cooling system pressure tester.if not you can get one at places like harbor freight for around $50-$70 not a bad tool to invest in anyway since it comes with the adapters for most makes and models.you'll always have it for the future and can share it with friends and family.
