Default DDTech H22 Prototype Camshaft Dyno Testing

I first want to start off saying this is a prototype camshafts designed by DDTech to be as close to a drop in camshaft as possible (with upgraded valvetrain) for stock bottom ends. Meaning no worries of valve clearance issues. Now, with this camshaft it needed some cam gear tuning to make the graph but none that put it anywhere near the settings which made the valve window tight. This is just a testing phase and he will make some changes based on this. I am going to make sure that the cams I have are regular H22a because compared to the other stock h22s on this dyno, I was 10-15whp up from them so I am going to put the degree kit on the engine this weekend and measure lift/duration to verify that they are not something like TypeS cams.

Anyway, Ill get on to the graph

as you can see there is a significant pickup in low end up to 12whp and 9-10wtq. Midrange was roughly the same however this cam continued to make power and carry it.

Dont be so concerned with the peak power differences. If thats all you care about with dynos, then please do me a huge favor and keep your comments to yourself. I devoted my time for free, Mike @ TDC Performance donated the dyno time for free and you guys get to see R&D for free from a guy really trying to help this community.

He already had some changes he wanted to make to this profile and I believe with this testing he got the answers he wanted and I look forward to testing another set for him.

The cams made their best power on my setup at 2/2.

crazy steady torque curve throughout nearly the entire rpm range. I'm also quite impressed.

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

BTW, we are playing with an EDM Accord Type-R H22 engine in a CRX and the Rocket customs (with his springs and retainers) started to shine right after dropping in.

Here is my home made cam plot ATR vs. ITR vs. RM custom.

The goal of the camshaft, was to produce a alternative to the Pro1's or TypeS's. This is the 3rd dyno test for this profile. I was alittle disappointed in the midrange, as i think there's some more on the table with a good manifold/intake length combo. Blake gave alot of helpful ideas and feedback that the community really needed. This was the last test for his prototype.

Thanks for the support brother as always.

My Goal was to create a camshaft that produced low/midrange and allowed for more reving range with creating higher power. We do have ALOT of stock block h22's that really can't rev any higher then 8500 or so, and this cam seems to really shine in the area's i wanted to do. The primaries are exactly what i wanted..Driveablitiy was awesome and it gave a somewhat aggressive idle lope that isn't too hard to dial in either..

This is just a Good, solid drop in profile for the H22's. I'm working on something similar for the K series and B series guys as well.

Thanks, Specially over to Mike @ TDC and Blake. This doesn't benifit just me, but everyone who wants to make power and go fast.

Its a stock H22, Bolt ons. Its a very health h22.. most stock h22's wont break 170-180whp.. i'm beginning to think he might have a typeS camshaft but who knows.. the results were good and it was nice to put em on a really, really health motor.

Here are the mods:

Stock H22a block / stock H22a Trans
EuroR head
BC valvetrain
Rosko Racing EuroR intake manifold
RDX410cc injectors (60psi)
BDL 68mm TB
3" short ram with BPi velocity stack (too short but what I had to work with)
PLM 4-2-1
3" exhaust
NepTune RTP

The stock cams I have were supposed to be non type S but I am going to measure them this weekend.

Yes, I guess EDM Type-R cams are the same as JDM Type-S, both bigger than "regular" H22 cams.

These would be some good cams for a roadcourse type of engine.. That mid-range is super nice! Keep it up DDtech!

The re-versed version is done. Primaries are a tad big bigger, not much, which should help alittle bit more and then the vtec lobe has been tweaked, should do well i expect.

When are you testing again bloke? these H22a and H23a Vtec engines are really starting to get my attention as with a small investment they make very nice torque curve.
