Hi, this is driving us crazy! it starts fine when cold first thing but after a long drive and after sitting for some time - 1 hour or so it has trouble starting. We have had distributor repaired changed the plugs fuel filter fuel temp sensor. prior to the above work it had a rough idle and lost power when going up hill and juddered when driving along. eventually it wouldn't start at all. mechanic changed plugs started straight away but after a while probs return???? tried starting with petrol cap open to see if its a vacuum but not any better. have to pump the gas to get it to start. ???? really need help asap as supposed to be selling it!

Make sure the fuel pressure is not dropping off after it sits. It should hold most of it's pressure still from that time. Also did you change your plug wires when you changed the plugs?

 

sounds like fuel pump or main relay. ive had this happen with an accord and an s2k they were both fuel pumps. onetime with a civic and that was a main relay. also there are steps in the diagnostic steps to check the pcm.

 

Not too familiar with the '95's - but I think the fuel pump has an internal check valve to keep the pressure up. So it may be be a faulty fuel pump?

 

Fuel pressure regulator. I can almost bet money on it.

 

Plus CRV's never came out untill 96 lol.

 

Hi, I have no idea if the wires were changed with the plugs but we have had 3 sets of new plugs, car seems better for a while then same problems start all over again.

Looks like we will try looking at the fuel pump next!
