Default Supension 2001 Civic

Hi there,

I recenlty purchased a 2001 Honda Civic Si (Canadian badge) as I read alot of forums and have not seen the answer to my question. Hopefully someone here can help me out.

I can see that its the an american made car with the VIN starting with a 1 so makes it an EX in the States, I just would like to confirm if the EX supension like struts and coil overs will fit? I just want to make sure before I go out and buy new structs as the dealer here wants $302 each front strut.

Thank you

yes the EX,DX,LX,VP from 01-05 all use the same struts the only difference is the 2001-2002 use 14mm crash bolts the 03-05 uses 16mm crash bolts. as far as going through the dealer thats up to you 302 dollars each seems very steep to me since here in the states we can get oem struts for around 100 dollars each. it seems like the dealer is charging you to replace the entire front system instead of just the struts. if just your struts are the problem then there's really no need to replace the springs, seats, bumps, bolts and every thing else. the only things that really need to be replaced are your struts and bearings also maybe your upper mounts unless your suspension is completely made of rust.
