hi pal seem to have same issue started with my battery light flickering at hi revs so changed battery

then my car craped its self I hit hi revs then car just cut out so ignition off and back on started fine but now engine light is on so limped home waited till next day came out started fine but engine light was flashing and every time the cel popped on it stutterd badly so tried alternator genuine Honda 1 from scrapy and that never worked so then tried spark plugs coils main relay pgm-fi relay ect but now ive cam to the conclusion that its the alternator as battery light is on so it must be internal fault as my car still charges ect

jst cuts out when engine light blinks/flashes or until about ten mins the engine light will take over then iam in limp mode ive tried scanners ect but no codes found so must be a simple thing lol but I tested my alternator and this was result

charge volts 14.16

green connector ignition off ignition on

black and yellow wire 11.85v 13.80 to 14v

white and blue wire 0.66v 13.85v

white and red wire 3.56 3.95v and wen {rev} 4.26v

do same with ures and compare and let me no cause iam am at a loss at moment been working on carss for nearly ten years but these em2's seem to be the worst Honda's ever made worst case is ecu fried

hi guys iam going to buy a ecu and see if I can sort it car wouldn't respond to Honda diagnostics tool so I no its no my tools thank god but eney ways ive tested alternator/swaped and coils and battery and inlet gaskets egr valve clean and so forth

but weird thing is started car to go to Honda usal crap engine light started flashing/cutting power every few seconds and had already been through this a few times after driving it would relearn idle and become a better car/engine light wouldn't flash as much but would still do it every min or so as it was learning idel ect I drove say around 100miles in that day I went to Honda/ect

I have came to the conclusion and Honda as the ecu wont respond and ive tried 3 other diagnostic machines b4 going to Honda but eney ways what I think it is doing is resseting its self every time I turn ignition off as I can jump in car let it warm up drive for a few miles ect and it starts to run ok but if I stop turn car off it starts all over again same procces and iam blue in the face with it

ecu I will update if it works but my problem started with flashing battery light at hi revs car would cut out then I would restart but it was in limp mode/engine light on ..then I changed my battery then my car just crapped its self to the point were I turn ignition on and I have a flashing engine light but today it wouldn't relearn idle and after flashing like 20 times eventualy then engine light would take over I turn car off then back on same procces light flashes until engine light will take over or it will relearn and be ok and onky flash every few mins ...so its resseting its self some how iam gessing

Battery light flicker at high revs is almost always the alternator or the belt being too loose. That would cause the alternator to increase resistance and fry the ECU(very common 7th gen prob.) Replace the alternator with a new one. Ground the alternator properly using the 3 " bolt on the housing. Replace the charging wire of the alternator (12 gauge that goes to battery). Ground the battery properly to the transmission. Ground the engine with a thicker ground. Most likely you fried your ecu with a bad alternator. Replace the ecu and make sure it is all properly grounded and connected under the hood.

A haynes manual will help you a great deal as well!
Basically if you think it is the ECU, GROUND the alternator first, then replace ecu.

Ive just had same problem battery light flickering at hi revs then on constant with engine light flashing on ignition and running with a stutter/hesitation and fuel relay clicken and so on ..also ecu would not respond there was a nack to get it to link up but no codes stored ect ..so I guesed ecu so got a second hand ecu for £41and then a reflash for £45 al done but they did say it didn't connect first time had to try it 2 times

the hole problem was a bad earth from alternator to engine ive just earthed alter to body incase bolt rattles loose and bugger my new ecu be safe comin problem on all civics 01-05 as all have same bracket lol

my alternator bracket wasthe cause I tested every thing coils alt sparkes relays fuses wire and so forth but solved yeeeeaah
