So I recently purchased a gurney flap-like spoiler lip add on from ebay.


do not buy this one! the fitment is horrible and does not match what their ad says, where fitment is excellent.


So for those who were considering it through ebay, I'd recommend you stay away from this

i picked it up for around 150 USD shipped. I already opened up an eBay case, so I should be hearing a response soon. I just wanted to post this up to warn other members and show how lousy the fitment was.

If you want more downforce, get a real wing and ditch the ITR style wing, gurney flap or not.

lol if I wanted more down force I would've opted for a J's racing wing or a Mugen Wing. The point of this thread is to simply show other members who were considering this to stay away. This thread isn't to debate whether or not this mod is functional or not. Personally I like the look of the gurney flap and its subjective, and I'm not trying to make everyone like what I like, or else we would all have the same car..

 

On one side I feel bad for you that you have to go through this. But on the other hand you should know better then to trust Egay products/sellers

 

It's ok, I didn't start this thread to cry about it, I just wanted to let people know how horrible the fitment was. I personally never had a bad experience through eBay sellers, and seeing that this was only a spoiler add on, I thought it can't be THAT fucked up, but fitment was horribly off.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure that not a lot of folks in this forum with ITRs were actively looking for a gurney flap "appearance" mod.

Plus, we pretty much all know that ebay is a *horrible* place to buy parts that haven't been proven.

 

Actually a lot of guys rock it and are looking for it. And how is a part supposed to be proven if no one tries it?

Really? Who? There is that one CF version a few years back that some folks had, but it was an appearance thing only. To make it out to be anything else is fooling no one.

At least that one was carbon fiber and stiff, so it somewhat looked ok and an argument could potentially be made that at least it was doing something other than just adding weight...

 

Yep all that added extra weight is really going to slow someone down. Why do you care so much what someone else does to their own car.

 

Because I find it funny that people buy unknown ebay appearance crap then complain when it fits like @ss. Reminds me of the EF forum...but the excuse there is that their cars only cost $500 and have more rust than original paint.

Also cracks me up that the auction says the piece is fiberglass and what arrived was seemingly a crappy piece of ABS plastic.

Does OP even have an ITR, or what is that?

And yes I do have a type r FYI, and I just got it a few weeks ago. Just trying to warn fellow members out there and btw I'm loving the forum already. (Sarcasm if you can't detect it since you don't even read posts)
