95 accord idles too fast
Hello all....I'm a gray-haired newbie. I basically know how to tune up anything built before 1975. Anything later than that I have to seek help. I have a 95 accord 4cyl auto that idles around 2000 rpm after it is warm. Idles fine when cool. About 6 months ago I replaced the vacuum valve which is attached to the firewall and connects to the AIC via 2 vacuum lines (junk yard). It is activated by an electronic switch which is connected to I have no idea what. That fixed it... for six months. Now it is doing it again. Can someone tell me what this valve is called ( I want to get a new one), and clue me in as to what else besides 300k miles might be causing this thing to go bad? I can get another one at the yard, but if it's something else causing it, that would be redundant.

Okay, I finally learned that this is called a "Frequency Solenoid". Two part question: (1)Can this be repaired? (2) What causes it to fail? It's outrageously expensive for so small an item.
