Default 89 CRX with D16 swap Question From newbe

Hey I have a 89 CRX HF with a D16z6 in it. I bought this car for my 15 year old son. We have put a new motor in this thing and it runs the same as the old one that had hardly no compression. The problem I am having is it seems to idle ok but will not take the throttle at all. When you throttle it up it pops and very erratic....It has a stock everything in the motor we went threw it...p28 computer, it was in the car when we bought it. I have triple checked timing and all that's good. I am new to Hondas but not to car in general. I have been turning wrenches for almost 25 years....and I sure don't know anything about the swaps other than what I have read. I wouldn't be doing the swap at all if we didn't buy the car with it already done. The peeps we bought the car from jack legged it and I have repaired the wiring using both the 89 and the 93 wiring schematic. Any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks DDEAN50

Uncalibrated throttle position sensor possibly.

well, if i remember correctly.. the hf was DPFI(Dual Point Fuel Injection) and the d16z6 is a MPFI(Multi Point).. if they didnt wire it up correctly thats a major issue...
