Just bought my first Honda. A "project" CRX for $500 (pics inside)
Hey folks, being that this is my first Honda I'm going to have to rely on y'all for a lot of help. I've already posted a little and I've been digging through the EF/CRX section for hours, but I figured I'd introduce myself and (more importantly) my new CRX! I've got a LOT of work ahead of me.
Here she is in all of her glory, in rattle-can green

From the back, complete with a bunch of odd stickers

A D15B7 (with auto transmission, unfortunately), 166k miles, running surprisingly well. Is that a shop vac filter?

The body is cracked underneath that black sheet of metal...

Ouch.

Fender's bent in pretty bad, not sure what happened there

He did a TERRIBLE masking job before rattle-spraying the car...

No carpet, no center console, no glove box...

I really want a center console. Anybody know if 90-91 auto civic consoles are compatible?

Seats are in terrible shape. And moldy due to leaking.

Is this door panel a lost cause? It gets caught trying to open the door and I have NO idea how to get it to stay or what screws/studs I would need.

Now it's time to tackle a few small things. Let's start with replacing that shitty air filter and putting in a radiator fan (car didn't have one).
Yep, he cut into and bent the housing, so it looks like I won't be going back to a stock passenger side headlight until I find a friend who welds. Destroyed it just to stick a shitty shop vac filter through it.

New fan

Mounted the new fan. Picked it up at Autozone for like 40 bucks or something, it's a Torqflo (sp?)

Wiring for the fan. For $20ish bucks I got a kit that came with a relay, and its own temp sensor that sticks into the radiator. No manual switches, yay! And you can set the fan to turn on as low as 90 degrees up to ~200 degrees

New filter. Just a cheap Spectra, but it's so much better.

So as you can see, I'm in pretty rough shape here. But this car is also my only form of transportation, so for $500 I really can't complain at all. Today I'm gonna attempt to tackle carpeting the interior, throwing on some cheap seat covers to tie me over, and painting the door panels/dash black and grey. Further down the road, maybe in the fall, my buddy and I are going to cram an H22A in the engine bay. Wish me luck. I look forward to learning as much as possible from you guys!

I remember my CRX it was about as rough as yours when I bought it. Spray painted body and what little interior it had was spray painted too. Honorably ugly wheels, huge busted up body kit and euro tail lights. Payed $700 for it and spend 3 years fixing it up then sold it for $5000 with a built and turboed 95 civic vtec motor, complete black interior with racing seats, completely stock and perfect body and spray painted olive green. Best little car I've ever owned.
Even as rough as yours is its still got a ton of potential. Good luck with the restoration.
