The F22B2 and F22B1 are physically interchangeable. and as long as you stick to the same years you will have no big wiring issues. The 94-95 are OBD1 and the 96-97 are OBD2. To use the OBD2 engines would require some more wiring changes.

To do the VTEC swap you will need a VTEC wire harness and ECU. Your stock engine computer (ECU) will not run a VTEC engine.

If all you are looking for is V-TECH you will fond those at your local electronics store. Not sure if they make a car phone that will add performance to the F22B2 or not....

If you have some extra cash and mechanical skills you could also look into doing an H22A swap. Those fancy DOHC engines also bolt up to the F series transmission. Maybe not the best match but it would work until you got the money to do a transmission swap.

Pretty much all the F and H series stuff between the Accords & Preludes is interchangeable. However, the F20C/F22C from the S2000 are a completely different bread of F series. They are not compatible!

My plans are to go pull one from the junk yard and rebuild it. So I am going to need the harness and ecu? Any other advice? Will the motor mounts bolt up? And any advice for the rebuild as well? This is my first honda I get to build and I need all the advice I can get and I greatly appricate it all the help.

What are your goals and budget?

Staying naturally aspirated or going forced induction. Hp/dollar, boost is better on a SOHC F series engine. If you want to stick to N/A a better starting platform would be one of the DOHC flavours, H22 or the F20B.

This thread really should be in the Accord section.
