What's up guys. I've been spectator of this forum for years but finally decided to join.

Here's the scoop.

I have a 1994 Honda DX that had an engine swap about 2 years ago.. its now running a D15 vtec, however I've yet to swap the ECU and hook up the vtec..

The problems.

My car has began to occasionally jerk while driving, and also dies randomly. Haven't done anything to the car yet, and haven't taken it too a shop. Any clues of what to check before dropping the cash on mechanic.

Also, recently my clutch is making a squealing sound when the engine in running while engaging the clutch.. would like some advice on this as well.

Its very sad, the car I've loved for so long seems to be falling apart.

is there a check engine light? As for the clutch, sounds like a throwout bearing

 

i was gonna say what CEL's was thrown also.. but i imagine you do have some since you have no vtec.. pull the codes and post them..


also you said the motor was swapped in. any idea when any normal tune up was done to it. (plugs,wire,fuel filter)

on the clutch my first thought was the throw out bearing like ^^ said.. idk if the imput shaft on the tranny could possibly have something to do with that.

I could very well have the throw out bearing/input shaft ideas backwards.

 

The issue was a dying ecu. I replaced and car fired back up. Throw out bearing is still bad but gotta save some cash before replacing. Thanks for the help guys
