Default Flashing d4; Code 14. Clarification request. 1994 honda accord

So my mother's 1994 Honda Accord LX will "randomly" get a flashing d4 while driving and the check engine light will come on. I did the sensor trick, and got a code 14 from the flashing d4. Now, I have googled and searched, and searched, and searched, and I have gotten multiple answers.
What should I do to fix a code 14?
Answers I've found is that a solenoid is faulty, the ECU might be faulty, the TCU might be faulty, a wire from the ECU to the TCU might be faulty..and a couple of other things.
What exactly does a code 14 mean (it's a transmission code), and how do I fix it?

TCU code 14 is related to the 'FAS' wire. AFAIK this is a wire that communicates between the ECU and TCU. Check the wire harness between the two for any breaks or corrosion.

Did you ever happen to figure out what the code 14 was? I've been dealing with that code for 2 years now..
