acura parts costly over EP3?
I'm in the market for either an rsx or EP3 as a second vehicle for commuting during the week, and then trackdays over the weekend...
and my wife asked me about the difference in parts cost between the acura and the Honda, and I actually didn't have an answer for her...so I figured I'd ask you guys.
I know some of the parts are interchangeable between the two, and that for those parts you can just go to the Honda dealer if you choose too.
however, for the parts that you would need to buy from acura, have any of you guys noticed a big difference in cost?
Is this something we should take into account with our decision?

the wife had a lexus is300 for a while also...
parts were noticeably more expensive (I remember buying a brake caliper rebuild kit, and trying to cross reference it with Toyota to save some money)

btw,
the cars we are considering are the ep3, acura rsx and rsx type s,2004 generation celica gt and gts.
I'm looking at all of their faults and strengths and trying to make a decision.

The only thing you're really going to notice a difference in is cosmetics. So if you bust a headlight, or need a new interior door panel on an RSX, it'll be more loot than a similar EP3.
Mechanically though, the costs are very similar if not identical.

All the prices will be very similar if not identical including cosmetic parts since the EP3 is not a very common car. I buy RSX parts all the time for my EP3

thank you AFH parts and poeticfinesse for the input.
I think we are going to be open to either one and just see what comes up for sale in our area.
I'm leaning towards the type s for obvious reasons...

Parts are mostly all Honda parts. There are few parts that you will only be able to buy from Acura like as said, cosmetic parts.
As a matter of fact, one time I needed a part and Honda said it was an Acura only part, then when I purchased from Acura, it came in Honda packaging.....
