Default Newbie questions on Repin 02-04 harness for 05-06 ECU

Backround: Looking to run KTuner (Only works with 05-06 ECU) with my 02-04 engine harness and K20a2, without buying a conversion harness. I've been told repining my 02-04 harness to function with the 05-06 ECU is possible. I don't know much about wiring, but know how to depin a plug, and know how to take my time and label everything.

1. Is there anything else I'm missing? Is there anything involved beyond just moving around pins in their respective plugs?

2. Where can I find the wiring diagrams so I can begin to determine what needs to be moved and where? Also any helpful FAQ's would be good.

3. Anyone done this before?

You won't be able to use your 02-04 O2 sensor, so be aware of that.

VTC- will need to be attached to ground. There's no VTC- on 05-06. Everything else is just moving the pins to new locations.

Here's a thread that lists the two together.

Yup, we have. Works well. Conversion harness is easier, but extra cost!

The 02-04 and 05-06 02 sensors are different, So I would need to purchase an 05-06 02 sensor?

Whereas if I went with the conversion harness my 02-04 sensor would work?

Last I heard HRTuning was working on a conversion harness, updates on this?

I haven't found any others conversion harness available.

No, your 02-04 sensor can't be used. An 03 Element or Accord front O2 sensor is the cheapest replacement part that will work.

Xenocron will have conversion harnesses in stock next week.

Ok, so even with the conversion harness and new 02 sensor is necessary. I'll check be on the look out for the Xenocron conversion harness. Might not be worth the trouble if the price is reasonable.

It's a different sensor, so at this time we suggest getting a newer one if you plan to run one.

Talk to the dealer you're going to. They may offer a package deal.

At $450 + an 05-06 ecu this seemed like a great alternative to K Pro, but with the conversion harness ($150ish) and the 02 sensor (Denso 234-9064 = $75) added into the price, I'm gonna be right where Kpro is.

Not trying to hate on the product, I'd bet it will work very well, especially for those people with 05-06 set-ups but I don't see the incentive for myself, running an 02-04.

Kpro also has more options compared to Ktuner.

No worries. This will happen a lot in the beginning.

well there are other ways to look at this...

1. repin 02-04 harness and buy new o2. then sell your 02-04 sensor to cover some of the cost of the new one. people will buy them used. very small cost on top of the 450.

2. buy used 05-06 harness or 03 element harness brand new. and the o2. then sell your 02-04 harness (high demand) and O2 to make the money back.

both of those options in the end still cost less than Kpro and add very little on top of the $450 cost.
