Default Del sol foot well gets hot

I drive a 96 del sol si 5 speed. I bought it with the stock Y8. Noticed the driver's side foot well got a little warm. After swapping in my b20b the foot well gets even hotter now. I'm sick of sweaty toes. The car doesn't have air conditioning and I live in Florida. Its behind the pedals towards the center console more. The passenger side doesn't get warm at all.

I was thinking about putting dynamat under the carpet. Does anyone else have any other ideas to keep the tempo down? Dynamat supposedly greatly reduces temperatures.

Dont see how dynamat will fix the issue. Even with out it, the footwell shouldn't be getting hot.

Is the exhaust sitting up against the bottom of the car?

Check and make sure the catalytic still has the heat shield (usually they rust off) as well as the rest of your heat shields in this diagram

Theres no heat shield on it.. Dynamat reduces temperatures by a great deal. Yeah it shouldn't be getting hot but guess what.. It does.

Then instead of trying to mask the problem with dynamat...put on your man pants, get under the car and look. Could only be so many things.
