Default Rear Hub/Disc brakes

Alright so my rear disc bearings are going out. Never done this before but was suggested a few things from different people.

Replace bearing and most say just buy new hub assembly. I am thinking of just buying 2 new hub assembly with bearings, studs, etc.. Now I am stuck on which brand? From my research I hear oem is made by NTN and/or KOYO. Anyone have experience from either or know any information..

Last, any DIY on how to do so..

Thanks!

I have a set on Timkens on my car and have had no problems for 6+ months. Bought them off rockauto.com

Raise car, remove wheels, brake caliper, brake caliper bracket, rotor, then rear axle nut (easiest to loosen when car is on the ground). Hub should come right off at that point Then put everything back together.

I bought a set of Ebay for both rear hubs and bearings, was like $50ish and have had no issues with them. Don't remember what brand/company it was tho.

I've got a 2000 Civic hatch race car, and just replaced both rear hubs (Koyo approx $125 each) plus installed new 22mm spindle nuts. I think you'll need a 32mm socket for the spindle nuts, and the install torque I used per the manual was 134 ft-lbs. If you've got rear disks, then it will be good time to double check the slider pins - I hadn't lubed them when I replaced the rear pads previously, but I relubed them when I replaced the rear hubs. - Jim

crazyhouse - I mentioned that it is a race car to justify why I went with a good quality / OEM hub unit. I could have gotten a generic brand a lot cheaper on E-bay, but I really would rather not have any problems on the track. - Jim

Thanks for the info and feed backs. I am most likely going to get koyo hubs and will def check the slider pins.

Its a 50/50 because people are saying both brands are oem. the one thing that stood out and I am not 100% is ntn is used for honda f1 racing, etc..

NTN was the OEM manufacturer. Also, for what it's worth you have to buy the whole hub assembly, you can't get just the bearing for the rear.

Yeah I know I have to get the whole new hub. I am most likely planning to get NTN hub assembly.

Thanks to everyone who helped!
