tell me if this sounds like a new(er) timing belt
Ok I took my valve cover off to look at the belt, and heres the condition its in: no cracks, looks tight still, not streteched out. the "honda" working writtin all over it is faded in a patten witht he teeth on the other side. (stripe faded, stripe not, stripe faded, etc). again no cracks, appears in good condition except the fading. tell me what you think.
it has 110k on it, car has some service records but there werent anyt papers on a timing belt. if they replaced it at 90k, would it look slightly worn like mine does 20k later?
The smartest thing to do is just replace it. That's cheaper than redoing your head and replacing valves, not to mention the down time.
Look at the timing belt and see if it shakes while the car is on... that's usually a sign that it's wearing out.....
