Default Too rough of a ride

So I just picked up a 97 hatch from a local seller and this is going to be a long term project for me and wont be ready until about spring time. The car has a b16 in it with a skunk 2 exhaust and lowered on eibach springs. The motor seems to shake too while idling too. I drove the car from his house to my storage place and noticed that the car was real rough when it drove. The car felt stiff to me. Im curious if anyone else felt that after they changed over their suspension in their car. I plan on upgrading to the red energy suspension kit and some Skunk 2 or D2 coilovers as well as some new Hassport motor mounts or maybe the Innovative mounts.

Has anyone that has changed the bushings in the car, mounts and coilovers noticed a big driving improvement over all?

Uh, if the car is too "rough" for you, you should probably reconsider your spring choice. You'd be going from some of the softest shelf springs available, to some of the harshest. Also, filled mounts like Hasport or Innovative will only make it worse, as will poly bushings.

Start off with a FULL tune-up. Get the motor running healthy before you worry about the suspension - it sounds like that's the source of most of your problems.

I have a 98 Civic with Ls Vtec and I run Eibach Sportline springs and there are the lowest and stiffest "street" springs they make. The ride should be a little stiffer than stock but handle much better.

It would obviously depend on what condition the parts are that your replacing. Coil overs aren't going to change the feel much if you already have lowering springs. Are the shocks original? If so keep the springs and put aftermarket shocks that are made for lowering springs. As for the mounts, it sounds like you need new ones.

Ah.. ok. Can you recommend a shock/ spring combo that would be softer snd comfortable for a daily driver? There seems to be a lot of different springs, coilover and shock combos out. Ive been out of the game so long I have no idea whats good anymore! Lol
