10w40 oil in a jdm b16a a good idea?

Default 10w40 oil in a jdm b16a a good idea?

Some people say that running 10w40 in these engines are better than using 5w30. Is that true ?

you can, but factory specs say 5w-30 so just run that.

If for whatever reason you run 10w-30, only do it in the summer when it's hot out.

Yes, 10w40 is ok if you live in a hot climate. It will work otherwise but you may notice a drop in MPG.

In Canada you are not in a hot climate. I'd run 10w-30 or 5w-30.
