Default d16z6 no compression at all!

Hi I'm new here so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. I just put a d16z6 in my 95 civic sedan. After putting it all in we tried starting her up and she would not fire. She kept turning over but it wouldn't start. She has spark, gas, and timing is dead on. But I have no compression at all. So we ripped the head off the block. The head bolts were not tight at all. We checked to see if the valves were opening and closing and they are all working. The weird thing was between the head and block there were leaves and lots and lots of cat hair. And also the fourth cylinder was turned 180° where the arrow on the piston was facing the fly wheel. I was wondering if I flipped that piston back around and put a new head gasket and tightened the head bolts back down to spec....should I be good?

Wow. What'd you pay for this engine?

Give it a shot and tell us how it goes. Did you check whether the head and block mating surfaces are warped?

Did you install a new head gasket?

doesn't sound good did you build ANY compression even comp test it once you have everything tightened. Cat hair and leaves doesn't sound good at all tho.

This is a disaster in the making. Get your money back for that chunk or aluminum they called a motor. If you drop the crank to "fix" that one piston, you'll need to mic your crank, crank journals, and rod journals. You'll probably find out you have to replace your bearings and rings. On the plus side, maybe the PO used bacon or beef jerkey for bearings.

sounds like the car sat in a garage, they pulled the head off, removed the piston for some odd reason,
put it in wrong, said oh **** this, let it sit, cat jumped all around it, they wanted to sell it, stuck the head on with out caring for crap, hand tightened the head bolts lol.
hope you got this car for close to nothing, depending on its condition.

You got burnt.

I once brought a motor and when I got her home and took it apart it was missing a piston, the wrong crank pully on it and rust in the cylinders. I brought. To lightly rebuild till I could fully rebuild mines.
Need up being so much crap I just broke it down and I now use it as a mock up block.
