ive got a 98 civic dx. i bought a carbon fiber hood for my car and its too big. it hangs off the side about an inch and a half, and hangs over the tailights about an inch. is there any way to fix it or take some off without destroying the hood?

 

If your hood covers your tail lights i think you may have bought a carbon fiber car cover.

 

You mounted a CF hood on the trunk? WTF?!!!

 

I'm going to guess "taillights" was a 0530 not-enough-coffee brain failure.

If it's too long, you have the wrong hood. Check the year range and body style for the hood you bought - it's wrong.

 

Im guessing you have a 98 civic with the 99-00 front end and purchased a 96-98 hood

or

you have the original front end and purchased a 99-00 hood.

 

Hanging over those tailights?.. can you post a pic of this hood?
