Default Timing belt tension bolt access ...

What do you guys use to access the tensioner bolt on a d16y8 WITHOUT pulling the crank pulley off? I just did a headgasket job and cant get anything down there even with a breaker bar because the engine mount bracket is in the way.... I put a 14mm socket on a long pipe and no clearance to loosen up the tensioner to retension the belt. I know people do this , so what do you use, and do?

Crank pulley in the way. Already tried from the side, no luck.

You'll have to take the pulley off. Buy the hex tool to hold the crank pulley, it will make it much easier.

I watched a guy tilt the cam at an angle and slip the belt over it and push down on the cam and install the rocker assembly back over it. Would anyone consider this dangerous for the cam if the timing belt tension is quite tight? I did just slide the belt off the cam and it wasnt impossible. I can get most the belt on but i cant work all of it back on.

It would probably work. But if you can't get the belt back on then it doesn't really matter if it would work. What is keeping you from just taking the pulley off? You went through all the work just to cut corners at the end?

Have you tried an offset wrench?
