Just bought a 2002 civic, Car has 70k miles and was well taken care of... I just have a question and I have pictures to show. Is it common for the panel on the side of the gear box to break away? Im not sure if I am missing a piece on the end of the tab or should I just replace..

 

The gear box? Do you mean the shifter box? Is it an automatic or a manual?

 

shifter, auto ... you can see in the pictures the peeling away

 

I'm pretty sure I remember a clip there. Possibly number 20: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/parts...mper/console-2 If not, you'll just have to get the whole panel. At least it's only about $10-15

 

Cool , great , now that I have a part number ill go to Honda and order the clip that is in the picture as #20
