hey all, i'm a newbie here and no little to nothing about cars.

my honda civic 98 was starting up fine in the AM and PM (before and after work) but when i was running errands during the day, at times, it wouldn't start, but just turn over.

took it to my mechanic, and he replaced the main relay switch and the coil, and it's working just fine - so far anyway.

thanks for the advice in this column, it helped pinpoint the problem for me and get an accurate quote on the parts.

When the engine won't start, check for spark and whether the fuel pump primes. This will pinpoint the problem.

Have you had AutoZone test the ICM inside the distributor?

Any CEL codes?
