We bought the above vehicle new. The dealer installed an alarm system that works with the infrared keyless entry. There are now 3 problems with it:

1) There is a control panel under the dash that has 2 toggle switches and a push button. We no longer recall what the toggle switches do but need to place the alarm in non-auto mode for reasons below. Does anyone have a manual or user information on this alarm?

2) The alarm has started to go off at random times. It wakes up the neighborhood. At one point I disabled the horn so I could get some sleep! What could cause this random behavior? It will go for weeks w/o going off but yesterday started again.

3) Where can we get new keys for the infrared entry system? Apparently Honda no longer makes them and ours are almost defunct (not related to the above).

Take it back to the guy who installed it. Let him answer thoes questions.

 

You don't mention the brand of alarm or keyless, was this the OEM alarm?

Assuming it is, you may have good luck posting on CB7Tuner instead of here. I personally haven't seen toggle switches used in an OEM install, but there's always a possibility.

The keyless entry is Honda OEM. The alarm system is not AFAIK but it's also buried in the driver's door so I can't see it (easily). It uses the keyless system as input.

My assumption is that it was one that Honda recommended so there must be other installations out there.
