Possible Clutch Issue? 92 Civic D15B7 Help!
I could use some help, advice, or anything anyone might have to offer in regards to my issue
I was pulling onto an off-ramp the other day and when I got to the top, I couldn't put the car back into gear.
Eventually I did get it to go into gear but the car just rolled backwards. We pushed it off the ramp, towed it to my Dads, and crawled around under it a little. the only leak was where the spring looking cover thing (sorry for vagueness on this) goes into the back of the clutch. It looks like its attached eventually to the stick in the car. You can pull this and it clicks in, and clicks out. there's a little bleed spot on the underside of this, and it only drips a little if you push it in or out.
The clutch pedal is quite easy to push in, offering little in the way of resistance. But the car still goes into gear, which, I believe, eliminates any linkage issues. Now, with quite a bit of noise, when you start the car and put it in gear and let off the clutch, as the RPM's fall, the clutch actually grabs and pulls the car, albeit slow, and only in first. When gas is given, the car just revs as though it was in neutral. Even in gear, there is quite a bit of play in the stick. Like absurdly, as though it was still in neutral. With a good start at them, I was able to put it on ramps and that's where its sitting. Any clue what the deal is?
It still has the OEM clutch. The engine is D15B7 16v SOHC if it matters. I bought the car not long ago for $40 not running, and figured out it was just the rear main relay to the fuel pump. I love the car, and it runs so good but it didn't look like the original owner had ever changed anything but the oil. everything else looked original. I changed out the fuel filter, the radiator hose, the spark plugs and wires, and the tires, everything else appears to be original stock.
Inside the car, where the clutch pedal stuff goes through the firewall, it looks a little greasy, dirty greasy, other than that, no leaks anywhere.

It sounds like a blown clutch disc or pressure plate. Clutch hydraulics only affect clutch disengagement, not engagement. You might get lucky and find it's just a bad release bearing or a release bearing that's seized on the trans case where the input shaft comes through. In any case clutches are pretty cheap for that car. If you check ebay you can get an Exedy OEM clutch kit for around $200 IIRC.
Ok, I bought a new clutch kit from Napa for like USD$140.
You make mention of the input shaft. That has to be what I was referring to when I was talking about the shaft that connects to the stick in the car, and the back of the clutch case. The thing I can pull in and out, with the little plastic/rubber housing around it. It Clicks in and clicks out, and has some leaking around it and from it.

The sloppy shifter is just worn out/non existent shifter bushings.
Ok, is this bad? Fixable? Worth fixing? Also, where are they located?
It seemed fairly tight before all this happened, so does it have something to do with the pressure plate?
I very much appreciate your time and input, Thank You!
BTW: I love your profile pic! YEEE HA! That's exactly the way I feel every time I am shifting gears. Right now I am driving my Wife's Taurus, and It's depressing.

You're welcome

That's supposed to be a pic of a BMW promotional shift ****, apparently it's real.
