Default A/C problem

Hello fellow H-T... I have a 98 accord 4 cylinder 250K miles all original currently getting cooled air. I have noticed the air compressor seems to kick on and off more than usual. manifold gauge reading low side 10 and high side 125. I have recovered and fully charged the system. I have been told it needs a compressor but with following gauge pressure reading it shows there a restriction and could be the expansion valve.. should i just replace the expansion valve?
thank you

Yes, the expansion valve can be the culprit (and cheaper than a compressor), but most likely you need whole new system. Learn from my mechanics mistakes, only use genuine Honda parts. www.hondapartsunlimited.com
He went through three complete systems (aftermarket) before getting it to work.

You don't need to always use Honda parts. Not quire sure why the above poster is saying that other than to advertise.

Just get a set of orings and an expansion valve and a receiver/dryer and install it with new orings and see what happens. Keep in mind that you might get new orings with the expansion valve and the receiver/dryer so don't open the kit until you find out just in case you can return the kit.

Not advertising. Passing on information from my experience.
What I meant by "whole new system".
Their are four major parts make up the AC system:

* the compressor
* expansion valve
* condenser
* and evaporator

Most after market parts are from (big surprise) China.
Poor quality control IMHO.

My mechanic replaced each piece at lease two times till he got it to work.
He replace the expansion three times.
An he is an ex-Honda Tech.

So save yourself some time and effort and use Genuine Honda Parts

great news a/c is some how working ice cold now. so now i'm stump on what the problem is. I have read about other members that have had issues with there mix control motor but it wouldn't explain my low pressure reading..

the problem was the expansion valve was bad and it was blocking the system..this is very common...once replaced more times than none the system is back to work...no need to replace all components in the system
