Default B18C swap in CRX, NO FIRE

So Iv'e been helping a friend of mine with an engine swap, we are putting a B18C with a hydro transmission in the engine bay of a 1990 CRX Si. We are using the appropriate RyWyre harness which is brand new, with a p72 ecu and hondata s300. There is power all the way up to the ignition coil, but no fire. Changed the coil, still no fire. Changed the distributor, still no fire. A problem that may be linked to the ignition issue is the fuel pump will not kick on unless we ground the fuel pump wire from the ecu. The issues may have nothing to do with each other but figured as much information as possible the better. We are pretty stumped, so any advice, guesses, etc. would really be helpful!

Thanks alot, Josh

Trace the wires from the sensors in the distributor to the ecu.

Yes, we did check the main relay. Relay checked out fine. My friend found some info online on the main relay and he said it should have a 6 pin relay, his main relay is only a 4 pin. This may be an issue, or he may have been misinformed.

I'm working out of town right now, but I'll give him a call. This may be the problem, a wire may have gotten pinched when he ran them through the fire wall. I'd imagine it was pretty tight getting that rats nest through it.

Scratch that, turns out we were looking at the wrong relay
He found the six pin and it tested fine.

Just found out that the Rywire harness didn't come with a wire for the Crank Positioning Sensor, so it isn't hooked up to anything. Could this be the culprit?

Shouldn't be. The obd2 crank sensor is for misfire code and not running the engine. Are you using obd1 or obd2 distributor?

you need the crank position sensor hooked up, even on obd1 its part of the distributor wires...ask RYwire to guide you if you think there arent CKP wires hooked up, you need it or it wont start.
I'm assuming that RYWire gave you and engine harness right?

Yes, we couldn't find a wire for the CKP, I guess we need to give Rywire a call. Thanks alot
