Default question for you vw guys

im not sure where to post this or ask my question..

good friend of mine is moving out of state.. he ask me if I wanted to buy his 63 bug..
hes done some things to it to get it running good after he bought..

hes giving me it for $2700.. I don't know anything about vw, but I have alwas loved the bugs

so my question is, if you were in my shoes would you buy it?
The good:
1600 Single Port
Roof rack
4 inch narrowed beam
Fresh nose cone mount
Rebuilt carb (no clue which one)
Rebuilt 009
Grant wood grain steering wheel
Empi trigger shifter
Empi 5 spokes
Fresh step rails
Some MP3 CD player
Empi stinger
Brand new still in the box Empi lowered shocks
HID headlights
All the seats have been recovered in black vinyl
I rubberized undercoat all the floors

i wouldnt these cars being so old are money pits its probaly a fair price, but its almost guarnteed to have rust somewhere. plus its pretty much a 3 speed first is useless. but if you like low slow and uncomfortable this is the car for you

Id buy it. Easiest car in the world to work on. Its value will only go up well the hondas will almost all just go down. Ive had a few, even had a 63. Wish I still had one now.

I'd buy it. I have a sweet spot for the aircooled. I'd say just watch for rust on the pans but if you undercoated them you should have a pretty good knowledge of what is going on under there. The beetles are like lego sets that modding them is stupid easy. Do it.
