Dimensions of external tranny cooler for Odyssey 1999
Hi. Does anyone know what size of tranny cooler is recommended for a 99 Honda Odyssey LX if the original factory/radiator ATF cooler is disconnected and we go with only an external after market cooler to handle the day to day driving and the occasional 3500 lbs of towing?
Do I need to be concerned with how many passes the tube makes? Are just the dimensions relevant like... for example 3/4 x 5 x 12 1/2 core with 4 pass or should I be looking at the overall dimensions of the tube that passes through the core.
Any help is appreciated. Goal is to safely tow 3500 lbs. Thank you.

Aftermarket coolers will have a GVWR sizing table on the box. So if your van is ~3500lbs then a cooler for that weight will be listed under a part number. If you are going to have an additional load or towing load, that has to be added to the GVWR rating. Usually the sticker on the door/doorjamb will have the listed weights/towing capacities total for your van. Use that to appropriately size a cooler.
FWIW, a stacked plate style has better thermal capacity/rejection/cooling than a cheaper tube and fin for a given physical size.
