Icon2 Cluster swap prob

I always research before I ask but ive found no real answer as of yet. I put an Acure EL cluster swap in my 98 dx hatch & when I first turn the key, the speedometer jumps to 20 or 40k, then I left the ignition on for a sec once & it dropped to 0 & worked fine for 2 days, now the same problem & it wont go stop now. It plugs up & lights up fine, everything works except for the random jumps. I don't understand why it would work fine for two days & then do that. I also took the battery out for 10 minutes & then tried it. Anybody able to shed some light?

is could be a bad speedo you can swap the one in from your stock cluster to test it. the solder on the back can crack causing intermittent failure .

Will that bother it from where my stocks in mph & the el is km? Also I looked at the back & a few spots look like sodering it may help. I just wasn't sure if it was a common problem or something simple.

speedo head failure was fairly common. and no the mph /km is in the speedo head not the cluster board . if you do swap it make sure to put the screws back in the same hole and don't over tighten them
