Default Hello New Here

Hello,

I am new here but always look here if I need help working on a Honda. There is so much info here. Thanks!

My very first brand new car was a 91 Honda Accord EX 5 Speed.... I drove that car 15 years and 280,000 miles. I now drive an 04 V6 Accord EX. They have been great cars except the Honda rust. So far the 04 is doing well. I learned the hard way about the Transmission problems with the accords from 99-05. I was shocked coming from Honda but I hear they have that all fixed now.

I also own a few Honda ATV's and 3 dirt bikes. Going to be getting a ST1100 soon!

I just recently bought a 93 accord for my son and put a JDM engine in it.

I have been working on cars since I started driving and found out they dont fix themselves and it costs lots of money to pay to have it done. So for 31 years I have been working on all the vehicles I drive and ride. Lately last few years I have been working on cars on the side. Mostly changing timing belts and Brakes but I know enough to be pretty dangerous.

My worst nightmare was my boss at work asked me to work on his 04 Civic. I changed ball joints and Brakes and timing belt and water pump and so on. Put it all back together and it was still up in the air no tires but I wanted to start it to see if everything was good. Well it almost started but the Positive and negative cable started on fire and the whole car almost went up in flames. After replacing part of the wire harness I found out that the starter main cable and ground cable went together and caused the small fire. After putting it all back together I discovered that who ever jammed in the after market air intake had been rubbing the wires bare. When I removed it to work on the car the wires were disrupted and caused the problem . Big lesson learned there. So he took it well and it was a good thing that didnt toast his car when he was driving it.

Thanks and glad to meet all of you....
