I have a 98 V6 accord coupe, the engine check light came on yesterday and the car feels like it lost some power. Engine is knocking and very unresponsive. It's sort of like a person running out of breath when you try to step on the accelerator. The knocking started today when i step on the gas... don't know what would be wrong with it because two days ago the car was fine. I checked all the plug wires and they appear to be seated properly... help please...

 

If the car is knocking, DO NOT DRIVE IT HARD (try not to even drive it). . This will destroy your engine. Pull the code and post it ASAP. Do not let this go on long. Knocking and pinging will not always instantly destroy an engine but it is more of a cumlative type damage. It does damage. Try some higher octane fuel or octane booster for a temporary fix and find out what is wrong.

the check engine light is on, i don't know how pull the codes yet but i'm reading about it as we speak... going to honda dealer first thing today... i'll try to keep you guys updated.
