91 accord dx lags in D3 and D4 but not in 1st or 2nd
91 Accord DX. Bought the car for $650, needed transmission, bought tranny for $225, my dad (worked on cars for 10 years+) and I put the tranny in. The car seems to take of in 1st and 2nd fine, but in D3 and D4 seems to lag acceleration. One person told me to check all cables make sure the connection is clean, (done, did not work). Another told me to check every fuse in the car(yet again did not work). i can upload pictures and stuck, just tell me what i need to take a picture.

Are you sure this is a trans issue or an engine issue?
You just got it, are the tune up items all up to date?
Jump the service connector (behing glove box) and check for any stored codes in the ECU/TCU.

How do i go about jumping the service connector.
Go to the FAQ and look for the "how to" on the codes.
Not sure but you could also check the throttle control cabel - runs from the tb to the trans - to be sure it has the proper adjustment/movement.

I have already attempted to read the codes, but i have not been able to find the ECU. I found two goldish in color, metal boxes with wires going to them. I believe the smaller one is the ECU but, no lights on it to code it. (Sorry I am still learning about cars)
I think the ECU is under the right passenger seat. That is where it was on my 1988 lxi accord. There is a light on the ecu itself that blinks the codes.
from 88-91(i beleive) it is under the passengers feet. (again i beileve not sure exactly) That info i got off this website http://www.troublecodes.net/honda/ again. not possitive. My car is a 91 Accord DX.

OP- you have a service connector. Once jumped, turn the key to "on" and watch the CEL light for engine codes.....the D4/"S" (if you have this option) will flash if there are trans codes.
Heres what i tried. i jumped the connector, and my "s" light blinked 8 short blinks. I can take video and show if that will help figure out the problem. I dont not have knowledge to fix myself. nor do i have very much time. i have till august 8th.. i need it fixed.
Edit::
I found a posting, the guy had similar problem in a 91 Accord LX. The last posting said it would be the o2 sensor. But their was no posting saying the problem was solved, could that be whats faulty. I have notice that after the "test pipe" it has exhasut leak all the way to the end of the exhaust.

8 from the TCU (trans) is an issue with Shift Solenoid B. Check the wires to it - pay close attention to the inside of the connector. Then test the solenoid.
UPDATE: Turns out, that the man at the salvage yard I received the transmission from, gave me a 90(I believe) transmission, with a 91(I believe) torque converter. My dad and I started on it this morning at 7:30AM and finished at about 2-3PM with the new correct transmission and new correct torque converter. Everything is working great now! Thanks for help though!
