I was just curious if a gas tank off of a 95 civic coupe ex would fit on a 92 civic cx hatchback? I tried looking around on the net but never found a good answer.

Reason for the question is After I got my car started and running It would randomly sputter at highway speeds and on normal acceleraction intermittently and after pulling the fuel pump it was covered in rust goo stuff. Inside the tank also has rust and the gas is all hazey. So if there is no way to clean the inside on the tank. I hope the coupe tank will fit..

Different part numbers. Also, if you cross-reference part numbers on HPN, it shows them as not being compatible.

 

yeah, I actually looked on a website at part numbers but wasnt sure if the only reason for the different numbers was because of the capacity levels.

But I figured it was going to be a no. thanks for your response!
