Icon2 Racing Seats

I just got a pair of racing seats and am looking for brackets so i can install them into my 98 civic. Watched videos on install and went to install them and realized they weren't gonna fit into the stock brackets/sliders. They are ebay brand seats and not sure what kind of bracket im going to need. They are knock mugen knock offs if that makes things easier. If i could get any help on this it would be great.

Contact the company and get their recommendation. They might even sell the adapter brackets you need.

I hope you don't get into any accident with those "for show use only seats" look on the sticker if it's still there you'll se it. just as bad as those 50.00$ "racing harness" and bars that can be got for cheap.

Buy brackets for your specific car. Then you'll need to fab up those brackets to the seats/sliders.

OP, eBay doesn't make seats. eBay doesn't sell seats. eBay is a conglomerate marketplace. Think of it as a flea market - you aren't buying from the flea market, you're buying from a vendor in the flea market. Figure out who actually MADE the seats, and contact them about brackets. Alternatively, find a steel welder in your area that will do custom work, and have him/her fab something for you. ****, you could probably duct tape the seats to the floors without sacrificing the **** safety you'll have with them.

i tried fabing some brackets and it failed really bad. They came out of a 95 honda passport and the seat are bottom mounts. I think ill prbably just let it go and just buy different ones.

Where are you at? Making new seat brackets really isn't that hard if you can weld, and if you can't weld I'm sure you can find a local guy who can do it cheap.

buy some ebay bracket for you specific car there only $20 a set if i remember correctly they might take a little bit of work to install them but if you can't do that then you don't deserve any bucket seat. when you get the bracket if the hole that are predrill to match your slider isn't where it suppose to be then flip the seat upside down place the bracket where you want it to be, mark, and drill get some right size nut and bolts from your auto or hardware store tight the bracket and seat into place then install easy as that. if this you cannot do then stick with your stock seat because you definitely definitely don't deserve and bucket seat not even the cheap one.

OR be safe and get proper legal seats instead of show use seats this is you and your passengers life that you're playing with should you crash or someone hits you.

Do your back and butt a favor and sell them, I refused to ride in my friends car because 1 they made the Inside of his car smell like a rubber halloween mask, and 2 they were so uncomfortable rhat my *** and half my bavk was numb after a 30 minute ride. The only thing those fake racing seats are good for is sitting around them as they burn with some friends and throw back a couple of cold ones......your going to need them after a long ride in them

you kids need to grow up! so now tell me if you was crossing a 4 way intersection and the other car or a semi run a red light at 55mph and side cluster you could you explain to me how a street legal seat is going to protect you or the passenger?

there is not really a such thing as a bad seat when it come to comfy it may not be comfortable for you but it may be for him. interms of quality some seat really have bad quality but you get what you pay for. now a seat is a seat it job is to provide you the comfy to sit in unless it a bucket seat that also provide the benefit that hug you in place and that all what a seat is suppose to do a permanent place for you to sit and drive.

now to the poster this is what i use to do to test if my seat are good, install seat in car, reclined seats to your suitable position sit in it lean foward and with all your strength swing your whole body backward to pound the back rest of the seat if it automatically reclined backward with your full weight then you my friend are screw if not then your good to go. don't forget to wear your seatbelt "click it or ticket"

Not only do none of them make sense, the first one is painfully wrong.

Frost, have you ever seen a seat crack and split at the hinges in a head-on collision? I have. Have you ever seen the lock spring on the hinge fail in a rear end collision, resulting in a shattered back and paraplegia? I have. My friend learned the hard way why you should never use those cheaply made seats in ANY car, and will spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair because of it. And before you say "any seat would have", no, any seat would not have. OEM and real seats are expensive because they go through extensive safety testing. You aren't paying for a name, or a fancy piece of cloth - you're paying for research, development, testing, and high quality materials that will save your life.

OP, put some wheels on the bottom of them and use them in your living room or something.

i see and did lots of stupid thing in my past 9 year of driving i had oem seat to recaro to cheap ebay seat to a set of bride, and i never once had a problem with any of them even my cheap ebay seat and they were the one i had in my car in my last head on collision. you guy are not getting the picture no matter how a seat is tested it only a simulation that is tested for road use and everyone always say things about the good parts what about the bad part? in the event of a critical situation a seat and seatbelt does not play a roll in saving your life anymore. if a car get crush on the side the person sitting in that seat are both going to be a squish donuts and no seat is going to survive. sure you have proof of bad quality seat but if a good quality seat say oem or recaro goes bad are you going to call it bad quality or manufacture defect? have you even seen the tv show unbreakable the guy drove his camaro at insane speed launching it in the air and smashing into a bridge his car was total but he survive why? because he broke loose out of his seat at point of impact. sometimes people take it way to far, sometime a negative can also be positive.

You are completely and totally ignorant. Please stop trying to give safety advice before you get someone seriously injured. Your seat and seat belt are the FIRST line of defense in ANY accident, especially for the two most critical parts of your body - your skull, and your spine.
