Cool! It's hard to believe how heavy Civics have become.

Type R's are still faster.

Honda really needs to bring back the "fun" car to drive.

Cool video, wish they would still use double wishbone suspension. The civic is as heavy
as the older accords lol.

A new style eg/ek hatch under 2650lbs with a k24 making 220hp would put Honda back on the map. All of these new civics look like a$$

I've noticed most of the competitors cars weigh in around the same or even a bit more than the civic. I find it surprising that honda has been able to keep the weight under 3000lb although with all those reviews slamming the 9th gen civic about it being cheaper and louder, I assume the weight went up for more sound isolation, etc...

God wouldn't that be a dream come true?! Ive said the exact same thing for years now.

I was talking to the wife just a few days ago about Honda not having a single performance car or anything that remotely excites me when I see it now. The only car we'd remotely consider buying now is a CR-Z with the intentions of ripping it apart to K swap it but that would be so outrageously cost ineffective to do at the moment.

Honda just sucks now, Including Acura's line up.
15 years later and it can't even beat the R is stupid!
The new Accord is really nice tho.. That's the only car in their current line up I would buy!

A current CR-Z with a K24 from the factory would be a new edition CRX. It seems like Honda has lost it's racing roots and is going for more comfort. F that. Give me a new rice box I can scoot around town in, not something my Grandma would own.

People have gotten fatter and stupider so cars need more "technology" to compensate for everyone's inability to drive.

Yup. I had a chance to get a Mugen SI, and decided to go for another 13 year old ITR. Best decision ever.

The itr on wider tires + 16 inch wheels vs the csi on all season tires?!

That fucked up the lap times right there!

I think the same style EG/EK would still sell. With some differences of course. But it seems the older I get the more retarded younger Honda owners get and their cars.

I would have to agree, I didn't want a car payment so I built a Type R Sedan. It's a replica, but a f'n blast to drive.

I would agree. They could bring back the 98-01 GSR, EG/EK with a K, not changing 1 piece of body styling and they would fly off of the showroom floor. All of the 30+ year old OG's would have zero issue with a brand new GEH

I agree 100% but, isn't it a crying shame we think in this frame of mind because the car company we fell in love with so many years ago has disappointed us to this magnitude? Will we EVER see a decent Honda produced in the future that we REALLY get excited about? At this point I doubt it.

We won't see another Honda that we fall in love with until Honda quits trying to compete in the comfort zone. Hyundai right now is killing it, almost all of their new cars are very good looking, and good to drive. Honda really does need to go back to their roots with small compact cars that you can whip around. Leave the comfort to the Acura line.

Are the Hyundais that much better to drive? Outside of the Genesis, the rest of the line up isnt really that much sportier than Hondas. Most of the common complaints on a lot of the hyundais from reviews has been handling, steering, and shifter feel.

Not really sportier, but better in the styling department. The new Accord does look real sharp though. I can't say I've thrown any Hyundais around in the corners so I wouldn't know. I have driven my friends turbo Sonata and that thing is pretty cool.

I think that Honda/Acura is watering down the line, so they can find another car maker to merge with or, at least, to use the other company's engine.

Toyota/GM
Nissan/Ford
Mitsubishi/Chrysler
Honda/Yugo
