Default 92 Civic DX AC Question

First of all I want to say thanks to everyone on here that has helped me out along the way. The car is running pretty solid now, but I have a question about the AC.

When the sun is out and its hot my AC doesnt keep up well at all, as in the car gets pretty warm. My initial thought was just that I need tint on the windows, but the people I ask say that the AC should be able to keep up and even though tint might help, there is probably another problem. It is converted from r12 to 134a, and there is not a leak...it holds strong.

Help?

Does the condenser fan run?

Are the condenser fins clogged with debris?

Are the evaporator fins clogged with debris?

Have you performance tested the system by measure the high and low side pressures?

Does the condenser fan run? - Yes condenser fan runs.

Are the condenser fins clogged with debris? - Fairly clean

Are the evaporator fins clogged with debris? - Nope

Have you performance tested the system by measure the high and low side pressures? - Just took it to the shop a few weeks back and they said everything was right on target. To answer your question, no I have not looked at it.

I never had R12 - it was always 134a. But it should still be cold enough not to sweat right?

OP - are you in a border state? If so, head south across the border, they will be more than happy to fill your vehicle up with r12 and its cheap...

Ask for a detailed report of the how the test was done and what the high and low side pressures, the vent output temperature, and the outside temperature were. Post this information.

It should be, but what sort of temps are we talking about outside? I know in 110 degree days its not too bad, but then again I have very dark tint. Tint makes a huge difference.
