93 Civic EX with charging issues
Several months ago my Civic's battery light would come on intermittently. I hooked up a voltmeter to the alternator and had my daughter drive around while I checked the readings. When the light would come on, the voltage would drop to about 11 or 11.5 volts.
Fast forward to this weekend. I pulled the alternator Friday and took it to a starter and alternator repair shop that a friend had recommended. When I picked it up, the guy said he replaced the voltage regulator which had gone bad. I install the alternator and the battery light stayed on the whole time but was charging about 14v. I hooked up the voltmeter again and had my daughter drive around. When driving, it would read 13.7 volts. When at a stop sign, it would drop to 12.7 When we parked on the driveway it dropped to 12.5 after idling for a few minutes.
Does it sound like this alternator is still bad? Or could it be something else? Thanks in advance for the replies and advice.
