Anybody running Crower stage 2 or 3 cams on their b18b?
Just wondering what you thought? It says you need the springs.....? Cam gears?

I have the Stage 2 cams (62403) in mine, they are freakin' lovely. If you do a search, you'll find that the general consensus is that if you stay with the stock redline, you can do fine with the stock springs and retainers, Crower themselves said this, and this is what I run. If you want to raise the redline, you should definitely go for the spring/retainer kit, and also probably stronger rods, and as long as you're in there you might as well go for high-CR pistons.... With the 403's there's not a huge amount of incentive to raise the rev limit.
With 404's, there are a couple things to keep in mind:
1. You WILL NEED the springs and retainers, no question.
2. You WILL NEED an S-AFC to get the thing to idle.
3. You WILL NEED to raise the rev limit to take advantage of the cams.
4. You will lose low-end.
5. You will gain significantly more high-end hp than with 403's if tuned properly.
As far as cam gears, you should get them with either cam if you want to extract the most potential out of them, but they are not essential.
Any more questions e-mail me at thefjord@yahoo.com Peace.
