What are these wires? 91 Accord
Hey everyone. I have a 1991 Accord Wagon LX. I just noticed some wires inside my engine compartment that are exposed and beginning to fray and corrode. I have no idea what they are called or what they are for. The car starts and runs normally.
Does anyone know what this is called and what it is for? Also how can I fix this? It appears it is attached to a long set of wires that leads to who knows where. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

wow it looks like a mouse of some sort has chewed on em...those are your distributor wires obviously
i would go to the junkyard and chop off a set of connectors with the wiring from another car of the same model and splice them into yours...i would use the heat shrink style butt connectors

lol. I think it was the battery I had in there. It would create so much acid it ended up piling up around the edges of the terminals and the powder probably got thrown around the engine bay. Fortunately it hasn't corroded anything else, at least not yet.
Man, that sh*t is ate up! I can't believe it still works. It looks like there's only one strand left on the blue/green wire.
Being unsecured right there I would go with solder and heat shrink as it's a lot less likely to break due to vibration.

Yeah, you can also just pull another distributor if you want from the junkyard or you can buy another one. It just needs to be either a 90 or 91 accord distributor. You can use your old distributor for parts if your other one goes bad.
Thanks all for the help.
I won't have time for awhile to get out to the junk yards for awhile. Does anyone know of a decent used or new parts store online?
