Default Tranny swap

sorry to rez a dead thread here, but I'm working with a friend of mine who has an 01 accord auto car, that he is busy swapping to a h22a mt from a euro r car same year i think.... he has basically all the mechanicals done.

The harness on the h22 is a good bit short of where it needs to be. I was asked to help him, and i obliged. He went down to autozone and got like 2 spools of 10ga primary wire and a butt load of butt connectors.

Will this work, It doesnt seem the best idea, but i typically do not mess with imports, and i have never had need to hack on an engine harness in any of my own cars.

Default Re: Bad to extend Engine wiring harness?

that should work i did that on a few wires mostly my blinkers n headlights and tehy work great i did a few wires on the engine and my cars running great i only changed the wires for two plugs but i got wire from autozone it depends on the size of the wire for what sizes you should use going to need two sizes of wire for the motor

ps: i find that sodering works the best with heat shrink holds up great looks hell of alot cleaner

Take it back and get some 16 gauge instead. And get the shrink style butt connectors for a weather proof fix.
