i posted on k series forums here and got no replies - so sorry for the repeat.

originally had began with a sputter when started cold, then came the mil light.pulled codes for excessive voltage on eld and missfire condition. i purchased a new eld from honda and a new coil pack from a local parts house - not honda oem, but made in japan.. had battery unhooked for an hour or less while doing the repairs. fired up the vehicle and again it sputtered, it starts without problem just sputters for a few seconds and idle smooths out. i can still hear a bit of roughness - so can my wife at idle but drives without problems in town and on the freeway. im dumbfounded.. plugged back in my scanner - it pulls now codes but says its waiting on the car to run tests on evap, o2 sensor, and function of cat. (eva, 02, cat) so i cleared codes and stored data and drove it..no codes but still waiting on car to run tests on eva, o2, and cat.. i replaced one of the o2 sensors around a year ago, car passed smog less than a month ago - but does have 200,000 miles.. please give input as my wife is carless.. bump

 

Have you checked your coolant temp sensor?

Try driving for a decent distance(a drive cycle) and try scanning for codes.

 

valve adjustment possible....I had to do the EGR valve on a previously owned 03 element that had starting issues
