Default Master Cylinder Question

I have a 1996 Civic DX completely stock and need to replace the MASTER CYLINDER. I wanted to upgrade if I could and I have a friend that has a 7/8 Master Cylinder which he bought for his 99 civic si. Would this work in my 96 DX?

I have read one thread that says the SI MC will fit.I have not tried myself. But putting a bigger master cylinder on the stock DX brakes is not really an upgrade. Your brakes will be stiffer and it doesn't improve braking distance or performance. You change to bigger MC when you change to bigger caliper pistons like when you do a rear disc conversion.

Yes, it will bolt right in. No, it would not be a good idea. Like axis said, it will over-stiffen your brake pedal feel, and will make the brakes much more inclined to lock up.
