Icon2 New to this!

At the end of August I will be Buying a brand new 2013 Black Civic Si HFP from the dealer, Lad I know is pretty much saving it for me, unless someone basically throws money at him.

ANYWHO! It will be my first "new" car, and my First civic. The area where I live, in New Brunswick, Canada, People from other towns/cities call us "2 French, 2 furious" Because we mostly own civics & other ricers and fly down 60km/hr roads doing 140km/hr..

I'm willing to live up to the name, now I need some help here, can someone give me a list of things I can do to my car to add Power & Fuel economy. Quickest/Cheapest to PainInMyAss/Expensive.

Already plan on getting http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...prod=69-1019TS for it...

Anyone got any Idea If I should and what chip to throw in there?

- Peace & love

$350 for an intake isn't going to yield much at all and is a complete waste of $ and power AND fuel economy don't really go hand in hand. i'd rather invest that $350 into some nice, new, sporty tires. i mean ****, the cars brand new. i don't see a point in dropping a ton of money into it. if you wanted more power, you should have bought something else. not trying to instigate you..

BUT if you do want to turn this into a rice rocket, drop it a few inches, intake, header, exhaust, hondata flashpro. about the best you'll do with bolt ons

also, pictures are not there?

Well, that K&N Air Intake adds 10.5 Horsepower & Slightly Increases fuel Economy (Supposedly).. I've heard nothing but good about that filter.. and how does the Hondata Flashpro work? Like what does it do really?

How much for a good Super/turbocharger.. which would be more $$, which is more maintenance(Again, more money).. and which risks causing damage to my car. <3

No chips. These cars run on OBD-II ECUs which is tuned and modified through a program called FlashPro. The software is free, though the device allowing you to control the ECU runs about $550-700.

What it does is allow you to adjust AFRs mainly, across the powerband, as well as adjust vtec engagement points, remove the first gear throttle damper, etc. Essentially you control all aspects of the ECU.

These K-Series engines are fairly susceptible to cold temperatures. My K20 will knock in any temperature below 15deg Farenheit, until the oil properly circulates. However, unless you will be doing a lot of starting/stopping in excessively cold weather, you can likely skip the block heater.

Proper supercharger setup can be had for about ~$5k on the 8th Gens...I assume the 9th gen is similar, maybe slightly higher.

A proper turbo setup can run ~$7.5k-$10k depending on how reliable you want it to be, how properly tuned, and whether you will be upgrading the internals or not.
Both risk damage to the car, but the turbo setup will require more maintenance, and feature a higher likelihood of throwing a rod or blowing your engine. However, potential gains from the turbo setup are higher.

X2. Tons of info out there, it's just a matter of taking the time to read it.

I wouldn't be getting the KN intake that is for one! Better intakes out there for the money...

I wouldn't worry to much about flying down the street... the car is capable of it already in stock form. You should learn to properly control instead on a RACE TRACK! Don't be an idiot and do it on the street.

Research and lots of reading is your friend as this subject has been covered one too many times!
