dome light stays on after replacing door.
so i just replaced my passenger front door on my EK8 sedan. now the dome light stays on. it flickers off when the door is closed but stays on after that. where are the contacts that make the light go off? or do i need to replace something? thank you
The PO of my car decided to slam the door on (presumably) the seat belt, which slightly dented the area the door's pin switch is. This resulted in my dome light on also.
I cut a 1/2" diameter circle of 1/8" close cell adhesive-backed foam and stuck on the door, dent spot and the light quit staying on (there was no adjustment in the pin switch I could see).
Your door is either not closing in far enough to open the switch / break the circuit or you have a bad switch / dent there.
Not a difficult fix though.
