Default The ungo box, model 5100

Does anyone know if the alarm system can be removed all together. some one gave me 1990 accord exr and it has issues with starting and looking at the alarm system some one has by-passed some wires and some where not and it is a mess, can I just take it all out and twist some wires back together to make it work. I do not need it and I think this is the cause of the electrical issues it has been having.

If your starting issue is that the starter spins but the engine does not start you may want to check the main relay. These are known to wear out or have bad solder joints. Click on the TechAuto link in my sig.

Sorry I should have given more info. The guy I got it from put in a new starter and new cables and new ignition and the main relay you mentioned and another relay on the side wall above the hood latch release. He had had enough and gave it to me (I know I know) the car is really nice and is a shame to scrap, but back to the problem, the issue is when you turn the key over to start it just clicks and clicks. If you turn on off, on off real fast it will turn over and start. It does this in all weather conditions. I was trying to look online for solution but everything people mention to replace has been replaced to this car. So yesterday I was looking around behind the glove compartment when I noticed a wire disappear under the rug on the passenger side and so I lifted the rug and found this box and a **** load of wires going every direction. There was some just cut, some wired to the box and some going through the fire wall to starter. The ones going to the starter ran through another relay of some sort and when I moved the wires around it seemed to start better (least amount of key turning to ingage starter) So I see also the box has a red light on it with sensativity **** and it was flickering as if it was shorting out (this is the alarm box) so I see some one has bypassed some but not all of the box and think if there is a way to get ride of the whole thing then my problems will to ( I hope)

If you have no paperwork or keyfob, then removing the system would be your best bet.

The relay is most likely controlled by the UNGO so the car does not go.
Albeit if you jumper the wire from the starter,(bypassing this added relay)directly to its feed the car will start normally.
